John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are in talks to direct a new Warner
Bros. comedy starring Steve Carell. The film centers on a father
(Carell) whose life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis
and tries to manage his relationship with his children. That sounds
hilarious! Requa and Ficarra wrote and directed I Love You Phillip
Morris, along with Bad Santa, Bad News Bears, and Cats and Dogs. I
loved Bad Santa so I'm looking forward to this one.
Warner Bros. purchased Dan Fogelman's spec script for a massive $2
million against $2.5 million. For a studio to shell out that much
money on a spec script is quite unusual. Someone must have
perfected their elevator pitch! The movie will be produced by
Carell's Carousel banner.
