New Images from UPSIDE DOWN Starring Kirsten Dunst & Jim Sturgess (Updated with Trailer)
(Updated with the first trailer) New images from Juan Diego Solanas' upcoming sci-fi romance UPSIDE DOWN have been been released. The film stars Jim Sturgess as Adam, a seemingly ordinary guy in a very extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he met once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach… a girl named Eve (Kirsten Dunst). Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grownup Eve on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back. Not even the law or science. Upside Down was scheduled for a 2011 release but it's been pushed back until sometime next year. I asked the studio when we can be expecting a trailer so hopefully I'll hear back from them soon enough.
Here's a snippet from a rave early review: "The director & writer Juan Solanas was there to introduce the movie to it’s first ever American audience and the movie concept blew my mind. It’s a love story (clearly you can see by this tacky poster), but the awesome thing is that they are stuck within their own gravitational fields that divide the rich and the poor and the protagonist played by Jim Sturgess goes to amazing measures to cross and cheat gravity to be with his childhood love played by Kirsten Dunst. The imagery for this Sci Fi is absolutely beautiful with each shot having this perfect blend of colors and influences from art deco, Inception, Ansel Adams, to your ultimate Sci Fi cities. It’s just amazing to see how to worlds interact and relate to one another."
Another audience member wrote: “Just saw Upside Down. I loved it :3 Plotwise, it was alright, but cinematically, it was beautiful. The colors and the feel were amazing, and the soundtrack was perfect. It had love, a bit of comedy, some action, and Jim Sturgess, AND SCIENCE”
