Orange British Academy Film Awards - Winners

NEWS: The Hurt Locker was the big winner last night at the 2010 BAFTA Awards. Locker won best picture, best director, and best original screenplay. Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth picked up Best Actress and Best Actor respectively. Full list of winners after the jump!

Shutter Island opens with a better than expected $40.2 million

NEWS: Shutter Island, the sole wide release of the weekend, opened with a solid $40.2 million. This marks a personal best for both Leo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese on their fourth collaboration together.

Kick-Ass Red Band Movie Trailer #2

NEWS: Although Lionsgate's marketing for Kick-Ass hasn't been spectacular, I must applaud them for consistently churning out new posters, trailers, and featurettes. The studio has just released a second red-band trailer, one that is more representative of what the film is actually like. Check it out after the jump!

The Best Performances of the Decade

NEWS: The New York Times has released this great video of some A-list actors giving their picks for what they thought were the best performances of the decade. There are some interesting answers - Julianne Moore almost cries when she recalls Sean Penn's performance in Mystic River, while Sam Worthington chose Eddie Murphy in the Nutty Professor. New Behind the Scenes Featurette for 'Greenberg'

NEWS: Greenberg was written and directed by Noah Baumbach (Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Squid and the Whale) and stars Ben Stiller, Rhys Ifans, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Greta Gerwig. A New Yorker moves to Los Angeles in order to figure out his life while he housesits for his brother, and he soon sparks with his brother's assistant. Watch it after the jump!

Wall Street: Where Money Never Sleeps - International Trailer

NEWS: Here is the international trailer for the highly anticipated Wall Street: Where Money Never Sleeps, a sequel to the 1987 film Wall Street. Michael Douglas reprises his role of Gordon Gekko and is joined by Shia Labeouf, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan. It's 2008, and hedge-fund trader Jacob Moore (LeBeouf) is watching as the stock market and his future take a downward spiral on his computer screen. Kick-Ass Behind-The-Scenes Doc

NEWS: Empire has released a mini-documentary from their time on the set of Kick-Ass. There are interviews with director Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Johnson, Mark Strong, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Kick-Ass has been gaining more and more buzz ever since they released several great trailers that showed off just how original and action-packed this film is.

Remember Me Featurette - Starring Rob Pattinson

NEWS: Remember Me, starring Rob Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin, opens in just a few weeks so a new featurette was just released to help promote the film. The film will show just how much drawing power Pattinson has. The only problem lies in the genre itself. Romantic dramas aren't exactly the biggest draws but if tweens and twi-moms come out to support their precious Rob, it could be a whole different story. Watch it after the jump!

Feature Trailer for Woody Harrelson's DEFENDOR

NEWS: Here is the official feature trailer for Defendor. The film is centered around three characters: an everyday guy who comes to believe he's a superhero (Harrelson), his psychiatrist (Sandra Oh), and the teenager he befriends (Kat Dennings). The film opened to great reviews at TIFF and should hit theaters in a limited release fairly soon. Watch the trailer after the jump!

Green Zone Featurette- Starring Matt Damon

NEWS: Here is a new featurette for Green Zone, a political thriller starring Matt Damon, that showcases just how action-packed the film is. The studio is hoping to bring in the large and dedicated fan base of the Bourne series since it was made for a hefty $150 million, which is extremely unusual for a film set in Iraq. Get Him to the Greek- Movie Trailer, Poster, and Pics

NEWS: A trailer for Get Him to the Greek, starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, has just been released. Looks pretty good, but Forgetting Sarah Marshall set the bar pretty high. A record company intern (Hill) is hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow (Brand) to a concert at L.A.'s Greek Theater. Trailer after the jump!

New Toy Story 3 Movie Trailer

NEWS: Here is a brand new trailer for Pixar's Toy Story 3. An all-star cast including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Ned Beatty, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, Whoopi Goldberg and Michael Keaton lend their voices. This is also a pretty, prett-ay good trailer so check it out after the jump!

The Last Air Bender Movie Trailer

NEWS: Paramount Pictures has just released a full-length trailer for their highly anticipated new film The Last Airbender. You probably just saw the film's Super Bowl spot this past Sunday if you live in the U.S. and were one of the 106 million people who watched the game. I thought this trailer was prett-ay, pretty good, but it seems as though they were able to create a more effective tv spot. Watch it after the jump!

Tom Cruise signs on for M:I IV, J.J. Abrams will not be directing

NEWS: Deadline is reporting that Paramount has reached a deal with Tom Cruise to star in Mission Impossible 4. J.J. Abrams is on board as a producer but he will not be directing the film. Dammit. They are still in search of a director but Alias screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are already attached to write the script. More info after the jump!

Katherine Heigl Joins 'One for the Money'

NEWS: Katherine Heigl has joined 'One for the Money', a film based on Janet Evanovich's popular book series. There are fifteen novels in the series and a sixteenth one will be released this summer and this is the first time I've heard about them. Heigl will play the title character Stephanie Plum, an unemployed lingerie buyer who becomes a bounty hunter to make ends meet. More info after the jump!

Jack Bauer may be on the big screen soon

NEWS: EW.com is reporting that we may see Jack Bauer kill and torture more people on the big screen sooner than we thought. Although Fox hasn't decided whether they're going to be picking 24 up for another season, this isn't slowing down progress on the film side of things. Apparently Billy Ray (State of Play) is in talks to write a screenplay for the franchise. More info after the jump!

New Poster for Atom Egoyan's 'Chloe''

NEWS: Who would've thought Karen from Mean Girls would be starring alongside Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson. A brand new poster for her racy new film 'Chloe' has just been released. The movie centers on a doctor (Moore) who hires an escort (Seyfried) to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating, though unforeseen events put the family in danger. First Look at Megan Fox and Mickey Rourke in 'Passion Play'

NEWS: Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox as a couple? No comment. This is a still from writer/director Mitch Glazer's newest film Passion Play. It centers on a troubled trumpet player and a winged beauty who rescue each other from dire circumstances. EW.com had the chance to ask Rourke some questions about the film so I've highlighted a few sections. Find out about Fox and Rourke's amazing chemistry after the jump!

5 New Posters for Clash of the Titans

NEWS: Here are five great new posters/banners for Clash of the Titans. The film hits theaters in 2D and Digital 3D on April 2nd. [via UGO]. Warner Bros had to delay its release to give the studio enough time to convert it into 3D. Posters and official synopsis after the jump!

Cop Out Red-Band Trailer

NEWS: For R-Rated movies, red-band trailers are the ones that count. The green-band trailer for Cop Out didn't exactly impress too many people, and unfortunately this one isn't much better. Cop Out stars Bruce WIllis and Tracey Morgan, and was directed by fan-favorite Kevin Smith. Check it out after the jump!

Super Bowl Spots - The Last Airbender, Shutter Island, and more

NEWS: It's always interesting to see what studios are paying the millions of dollars for a 30-second TV spot for their upcoming films. After the jump you can see the Super Bowl spot for The Last Airbender, Shutter Island, Robin- Hood, and other spots from previous years.

New Character Banners for Alice in Wonderland

NEWS: Here are two new character posters for Cheshire the Cat (voiced by Stephen Fry) and The White Rabbit (voiced by Michael Sheen). The film stars Johnny DeppMia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway. Alice in Wonderland arrives at theaters on March 5th in 3D and IMAX 3D. Check out the full posters after the jump.

First Look at Philip Ridley's 'Heartless'

NEWS: A proper trailer has been released for Philip Ridley's newest film Heartless. The film was shown at last year’s FrightFest and was extremely well-received. Jim Sturgess stars as Jamie Morgan, a young man with a large heart-shaped birthmark on his face, who discovers that there are demons on the streets of East London. New International Kick-Ass Movie Trailer

NEWS: Kick-Ass wowed everyone at Comic-Con and we now have a new international trailer for the highly anticipated film. They've done a really great job building buzz and emphasizing it's dark/twisted humor. Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so. NEWS: Anne Hathaway announced the nominees for the 82nd Academy Awards today. The Hurt Locker and Avatar score the most nominations, including best director and best picture. Not too many surprises but check out the full list after the jump!

Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant's Cemetery Junction has a trailer

NEWS: Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, creators of The Office and Extras, wrote and directed Cemetery Junction, A 1970s-set comedy centered on three upstart professional men working at an insurance company. There's more drama than comedy in this trailer but that's fine by me. Check it out after the jump!

2010 Razzie Award Nominations Announced

NEWS: The Razzie Award nominations were announced today and there really were no surprises. Transformers 2, G.I. Joe, Land of the Lost, and New Moon lead the way. The "winners" will be announced on March 6th. Check out a full list of the nominees after the jump!

Takers- New International Trailer Released

NEWS: I was hoping that the international trailer for Takers would improve upon the first trailer, but I was wrong. Takers centers on a group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case. First Trailer for 'The Losers'

NEWS: We finally have a trailer for 'The Losers', a film based on the DC-Vertigo comic by Andy Diggle. After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination. I enjoyed the trailer and it looks like it could be a decent hit. There's lots of action, humor, and explosions. Check it out after the jump!

She's Out of My League- New Red-band Trailer

NEWS: Here's the new red-band trailer for She's Out of My League starring Jay Baruchel. An average Joe meets the perfect woman, but his lack of confidence and the influence of his friends and family begin to pick away at the relationship. The trailer made me laugh a lot and it looks like it could be a fun (predictable) movie. Check out the trailer after the jump!

Mel Gibson in talks to join spy thriller 'Cold Warrior'

NEWS: Mel Gibson is reportedly in talks to star in Universal Pictures' spy thriller "Cold Warrior." Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) is attached to direct the film with Chuck Mondry providing the script. The film centers on a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia. New Images and Clips from 'The Yellow Handkerchief'

NEWS: Here are new pics and clips from The Yellow Handkerchief starring Kristen Stewart and William Hurt. The movie is about three strangers of two generations bound by loneliness who reach out to one another. After embarking on a road trip through post Katrina Louisiana, their relationships forge and change in a myriad of ways, leading to the possibility of second chances. The film is due to debut exclusively on pay-TV channel Epix in 2010 or 2011.

Muccino in talks to direct sci-fi romance 'Passengers'

NEWS: Gabriele Muccino is in advanced talks with Morgan Creek to direct sci-fi romance "Passengers" starring Keanu Reeves. The film is set in the future on a spacecraft making a centuries-long interstellar voyage to a new planet. Due to a computer glitch, a single passenger (Reeves) awakens from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he, in turn, awakens a beautiful woman. Interesting premise. I'm usually up for any kind of sci-fi flick, especially one set in space and in the future. More info after the jump!

Requa, Ficarra to direct Steve Carell comedy

NEWS: John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are in talks to direct a new Warner Bros. comedy starring Steve Carell. The film centers on a father (Carell) whose life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children. That sounds hilarious! Requa and Ficarra wrote and directed I Love You Phillip Morris, along with Bad Santa, Bad News Bears, and Cats and Dogs. More info after the jump!

When in Rome Behind the Scenes: Comedic Cast

NEWS: Yahoo has an exclusive behind the scenes look from Kristen Bell's newest rom-com When in Rome. Although the premise is all sorts of cheesy, the cast is great. Will Arnett, Dax Shepard, Danny DeVito, and Jon Heder are there to provide the laughs. Check out the clip after the jump!
