NEWS: Shutter Island, the sole wide release of the weekend, opened with a solid $40.2 million. This marks a personal best for both Leo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese on their fourth collaboration together.

NEWS: Although Lionsgate's marketing for Kick-Ass hasn't been spectacular, I must applaud them for consistently churning out new posters, trailers, and featurettes. NEWS: The New York Times has released this great video of some A-list actors giving their picks for what they thought were the best performances of the decade. There are some interesting answers - Julianne Moore almost cries when she recalls Sean Penn's performance in Mystic River, while Sam Worthington chose Eddie Murphy in the Nutty Professor. NEWS: Here is the international trailer for the highly anticipated Wall Street: Where Money Never Sleeps, a sequel to the 1987 film Wall Street. Michael Douglas reprises his role of Gordon Gekko and is joined by Shia Labeouf, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan. It's 2008, and hedge-fund trader Jacob Moore (LeBeouf) is watching as the stock market and his future take a downward spiral on his computer screen. NEWS: Empire has released a mini-documentary from their time on the set of Kick-Ass. There are interviews with director Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Johnson, Mark Strong, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Kick-Ass has been gaining more and more buzz ever since they released several great trailers that showed off just how original and action-packed this film is.

Remember Me Featurette - Starring Rob Pattinson |
NEWS: Remember Me, starring Rob Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin, opens in just a few weeks so a new featurette was just released to help promote the film. The film will show just how much drawing power Pattinson has. The only problem lies in the genre itself. Romantic dramas aren't exactly the biggest draws but if tweens and twi-moms come out to support their precious Rob, it could be a whole different story. Watch it after the jump!

NEWS: Here is the official feature trailer for Defendor. The film is centered around three characters: an everyday guy who comes to believe he's a superhero (Harrelson), his psychiatrist (Sandra Oh), and the teenager he befriends (Kat Dennings). The studio is hoping to bring in the large and dedicated fan base of the Bourne series since it was made for a hefty $150 million, which is extremely unusual for a film set in Iraq. NEWS: Here is a brand new trailer for Pixar's Toy Story 3. An all-star cast including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Ned Beatty, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, Whoopi Goldberg and Michael Keaton lend their voices. NEWS: Paramount Pictures has just released a full-length trailer for their highly anticipated new film The Last Airbender. You probably just saw the film's Super Bowl spot this past Sunday if you live in the U.S. and were one of the 106 million people who watched the game. I thought this trailer was prett-ay, pretty good, but it seems as though they were able to create a more effective tv spot. Watch it after the jump!

Tom Cruise signs on for M:I IV, J.J. Abrams will not be directing |
NEWS: Deadline is reporting that Paramount has reached a deal with Tom Cruise to star in Mission Impossible 4. J.J. Abrams is on board as a producer but he will not be directing the film. Dammit. They are still in search of a director but Alias screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are already attached to write the script. More info after the jump!

Katherine Heigl Joins 'One for the Money' |
NEWS: Katherine Heigl has joined 'One for the Money', a film based on Janet Evanovich's popular book series. There are fifteen novels in the series and a sixteenth one will be released this summer and this is the first time I've heard about them. Heigl will play the title character Stephanie Plum, an unemployed lingerie buyer who becomes a bounty hunter to make ends meet. More info after the jump!

NEWS: EW.com is reporting that we may see Jack Bauer kill and torture more people on the big screen sooner than we thought. Although Fox hasn't decided whether they're going to be picking 24 up for another season, this isn't slowing down progress on the film side of things. NEWS: Who would've thought Karen from Mean Girls would be starring alongside Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson. A brand new poster for her racy new film 'Chloe' has just been released. The movie centers on a doctor (Moore) who hires an escort (Seyfried) to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating, though unforeseen events put the family in danger. NEWS: Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox as a couple? No comment. This is a still from writer/director Mitch Glazer's newest film Passion Play. It centers on a troubled trumpet player and a winged beauty who rescue each other from dire circumstances. NEWS: A proper trailer has been released for Philip Ridley's newest film Heartless. The film was shown at last year’s FrightFest and was extremely well-received. NEWS: I was hoping that the international trailer for Takers would improve upon the first trailer, but I was wrong. Takers centers on a group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case. NEWS: We finally have a trailer for 'The Losers', a film based on the DC-Vertigo comic by Andy Diggle. After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination. I enjoyed the trailer and it looks like it could be a decent hit. NEWS: Mel Gibson is reportedly in talks to star in Universal Pictures' spy thriller "Cold Warrior." Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) is attached to direct the film with Chuck Mondry providing the script. The film centers on a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia. NEWS: Gabriele Muccino is in advanced talks with Morgan Creek to direct sci-fi romance "Passengers" starring Keanu Reeves. The film is set in the future on a spacecraft making a centuries-long interstellar voyage to a new planet. Due to a computer glitch, a single passenger (Reeves) awakens from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he, in turn, awakens a beautiful woman. Interesting premise.
