Apatow talks to Empire about a possible sequel

Anchorman has got to be one of Will Ferrell's best movies and even
one of the best comedies ever. Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin,
Knocked Up, Funny People) recently spoke with
Empire about a possible sequel. He mentioned that Will
Ferrell and Adam McKay, the director and writer of Anchorman, are
currently making 'The Other Guys'. “But I guess it’s a little bit
more a possibility than it was a year ago, when it wasn’t being
discussed at all," said Apatow.
He went on to say, “When we made Anchorman, Adam and Will had a lot
of ideas about what the sequel would be – they’d always laugh about
where they’d take the characters.” And what exactly will the film
be about? “The great thing is, Will can be any age and play that
character. Those anchormen sometimes have their jobs until they’re
75 years old. So we would always laugh that this movie could work
if everybody’s really elderly.”
Please don't wait that long. Hopefully we can see Rob Burgundy and
the channel 4 news team grace our screens some time in the next
three to five years. Anchorman did solid business at the box office
grossing $90,574,188 worldwide on a $26M budget. It also did really
well in DVD sales and rentals. Are you excited for Anchorman 2? Or
should they not mess with a classic?
